00000We’d been shopping for a new home for several months when we came across one that we absolutely loved. It was a Craig Home, and even though it was still under construction, we could clearly see that it would be perfect for our family. But as we talked to each other about buying the new home, we realized we were facing a major obstacle:
00000We had to sell our existing home first, and that meant we had to fix it up, clean it up and keep it that way so that potential buyers could tour at any time (a huge feat for a couple with a four-year-old and a baby!). We also had to find the right real estate agent, agree on the commission we would pay them and work out other details of the listing contract.
00000Timing was everything. If we sold our existing home before the new one was finished, we would likely have to lease an apartment and put the bulk of our furniture in storage. If we didn’t sell it soon enough, the home of our dreams might be sold to someone else.
00000We told Steve Craig about our dilemma and the idea of trading homes came up. In essence, Craig Homes would buy our existing home so that we could buy the new one we loved. We would be spared all the hassles and expense of selling our home in the conventional way.

And then we handed the keys to our old home to Steve Craig. Meanwhile, we chose the colors and other finishing touches that customized our new home just for us.
